Lena Siewert

Lena studied Life Sciences at the University of Konstanz. During her studies, she developed a strong fascination for Microbiology and began exploring immunology-related research questions. Lena earned her PhD in Infection Biology, focusing on the adaptive immune response to bacterial intruders and how these bacteria attempt to evade or modulate immune attacks. As a senior Postdoctoral Researcher in the Pröbstel lab for four years, Lena investigated the interactions between bacteria - both commensals and pathogens - and adaptive immune cells in the context of autoimmune neuroinflammation.
